Every year, we embark on the journey of predictions, taking a peek into the foggy crystal ball of the future. Sometimes, our forecasts have been gloriously accurate, earning us a moment of pride. Other times, we’ve fallen so flat that we can practically feel the sidewalk etched into our faces.
Before we delve into 25, let’s check 2024 predictions we made a year ago for accuracy. We vaulted it then. We reopen now. How did we do? The BOLD font after each prediction is our judgement of it–and it was one of our worst years:
- The Israel / Palestine war will ravage through spring, with more and more corpses piling up. At some point by May the world will have enough and look for a solution. But Ukraine and Russia will at time divert attention. Both wars will ease as the summer months reign.. but newfound chaos awaits in the autumn. RIGHT. Maybe this was an easy one.. We got it right. Sadly.
- Black swan event. We will have turmoil and tumult. At times it will feel like the world around us is ending. The only sanity we will get is if we go offline.. Black swan would have been the Trump assassination. This was too open ended. We will count this as WRONG since we were not specific.
- Going offline will be in vogue in 2024. With AI tech reigning, we will distract ourselves with 20th century ideals of nature.. hiking.. We will still keep our phones attached to our bodies, but we will try to get in touch with things that once grounded us to the planet. We will need all the support from Earth as we can get in 2024’s stressful news cycles. Culturally it seems we didn’t progress and get back to nature. We will count this as WRONG.
- Donald Trump will be the nominee for the Republican party. The party will attempt to force him to choose Nikki Haley as VP but he will take his own course of action.. while he will want Tucker Carlson, Tucker opts out in favor of making big bucks on X. Instead Trump goes with Kari Lake. HALF right. Trump was the nominee. Clearly Lake was not the VP.
- Robert Kennedy will get 19% of the popular vote and will become the biggest third party candidate since Ross Perot. However he will take votes from both Biden and Trump.. WRONG. Though RFK is going to matter in 2025, he did not seem in this year.
- There will be NO presidential debates between Biden and Trump. ALMOST right. But wrong. Instead we got 1 debate with Biden and he did so bad he was forced out.. So .. in the spirit of what we attempted to explain, we will count this as half right.
- AI technology will begin to really, really scare people. We will figure out that nothing we see online is written by real people. Jobs? Well we better rethink them. 2024 will showcase the end of the workforce as we know it. Construction and the building trades may be the future no one saw coming. The roaring 20s will be built by grit, not by BITs. We think we got this one.. though the jobs were not celebrated by media. BUT there are lots of construction projects that began this year. And these jobs are important and needed. SO guess what.. we will count this as RIGHT.
- Late January and February will be cold across North America with several snow storms. But for the most part, get ready for heat and hot and sweat. It will be a record warm 2024. BINGO.
- There will be a new Pope by Christmas mass in December 2024. WRONG. *See next’s predictions below.
- The electoral college map prediction. Get ready to freak.. we say a 269-269 tie and God knows what will happen next. WRONG and thankfully so. We didn’t need that.
Sure, we did not get much right for 2024. But why stop…
As tradition would have it—and for the 23rd consecutive year—we’re making our predictions for the year ahead. These bold forecasts will be sealed away in the vault and reopened during Christmas week of 2025.
Let’s dive in and see what the 2025 simulation might have in store:
1. Political Chaos Will Reign Supreme
Political turmoil will dominate the global stage, and the U.S. will not be spared. The Donald Trump administration will mirror his first term: chaotic, reactionary, and overwhelming for both the media and the public. The relentless pace of news will leave everyone feeling fatigued. Allies—like Elon Musk—may quickly turn into adversaries, as Trump’s world often thrives on unpredictability.
2. AI Becomes a Profitable Commodity
Artificial intelligence will no longer be the free tool we’ve enjoyed. In 2025, AI will become a highly profitable industry—but not for everyday users like you and me. Corporations and power brokers will monetize AI to an unprecedented degree. If you can’t pay, you won’t play, and those left behind may struggle to keep up in an increasingly AI-driven world.
3. Cryptocurrency Takes Center Stage
Cryptocurrency’s gradual replacement of traditional money will accelerate in 2025. Watch as major governmental organizations start adopting crypto alongside—or even in place of—cash. This could mark a seismic shift in how economies operate.
4. Conflicts Continue to Escalate
Despite hopes for peace, both the Israeli-Gaza conflict and the Russia-Ukraine war will escalate further in 2025. Promises of resolution will remain unfulfilled, and global tensions will persist.
5. A Massive Volcanic Eruption
Weather disasters are commonplace, but 2025 may bring something far more dramatic: a massive volcanic eruption, potentially coinciding with a significant seismic event. This could happen in North America, leaving a profound impact on the region.
6. Surveillance Becomes Fully Embraced
Surveillance isn’t going away—in fact, it will become fully embraced in 2025. People will willingly self-surveil and accept AI monitoring, believing it will improve their lives. Whether it truly helps or not is irrelevant; the trend will continue regardless of the risks.
7. Alien Disclosure Will Stall
Despite growing speculation, we won’t get closer to full alien disclosure in 2025. Instead, the narrative will shift: much of the “alien” activity witnessed around the globe will be revealed as advanced human technology. Interestingly, this technology might not even be governmental but rather the work of private corporations.
8. A Shift Toward Employer-Focused Policies
For workers hoping to continue remote work or benefit from Biden-era labor policies, 2025 may bring disappointment. The workplace will shift to favor employers, with a stronger emphasis on profit-driven decisions. This change could reshape the modern workforce.
9. Highest ratings in 2025
By the summer of 2025, the world will crave a hero—and Superman will deliver. The new Superman film will dominate the box office, potentially becoming the highest-grossing movie of the year. It could even claim the title of the best installment in the entire franchise, reigniting the love for the Man of Steel.
Meanwhile on the ‘regular TV,’ we will be fixated on trials. Bryan Kohberger and Luigi Mangione’s trials will be the top rated moments of the news news.
10. The Next Pope
2024’s prediction didn’t happen. So here we go.. 2025 may bring significant changes to the Vatican. Due to a health crisis, resignation, or passing, Pope Francis will step down. His successor could be dubbed by many as “the final Pope,”
Sealed. Vaulted. Let’s see how good these are and at the same time how bad we may be by their reopening..
