A poster on Facebook released the third police report filed by now FORMER talk show host Art Bell this past week.. Bell himself went on Facebook and copied and pasted the report in total.. from that post:

On 12/09/2015 at approximately 2006 NCSO Dispatch received a 911 call from the wife of Art Bell reporting that he was out walking on the property and he had called her from his cell phone to tell her someone had shot at him and then he stopped responding.
NCSO Deputies responded and checked the area. Art Bell was located laying on the ground of his property with no injuries. He reported to responding deputies that he was not sure if the noise he heard was a firework or gunshot.
Deputies did a thorough check of the area and located no one and also did not locate any evidence of gunshots. Deputies maintained extra patrol in the area over the remainder of the week however nothing was discovered. At this point the investigation is closed unless further information is discovered.

It would appear, according to the report and press release, that the investigation is closed. It also seems to compile data showcasing the hectic and frantic scene that developed when, as Bell said, shots or fireworks were heard near or on his property as he was walking to the location of his show broadcasting location juxtapose to his house in Pahrump, NV..
Several people online, in various places, have expressed doubt in the Bell story, decrying his final quit as a staged attempt to either get ratings or utilize the situation to quit the program. Bell has taken on critics, both on Facebook and on Bellgab. He even called into the Friday MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT program hosted by Heather Wade to explain why he suddenly quit.
In an earlier message today, Bell stated that when asked about whether he’d come back if the alleged shooter was caught: ” People ask if they catch this person would I come back? Perhaps I would if I was sure it was stopped. There are people saying I made all this up to leave, in what Universe does that make sense? I love what I do.”
But even if a return *(again)* was possible, the major stations who picked up the show have already started to bail. Along with that most likely is a steady stream of people quitting the time traveler club.

Dear ‘Horror Report’,
In an attempt to summarize the growing consternation with regards to the latest Art Bell ‘Retirement-not-sure-what-to-call-it-now’ phase of Midnight In The Desert broadcasts.
What is growing to be a majority (for the time being perhaps?) number of listeners is a lack of interest in Art’s perception of the world around him. It is very clear that Art himself believes that there is a potential shooter/fireworks deviant on the loose in Parhump, NV regardless of official law enforcement participation at this time.
That may sound familiar to many long time listeners of Art’s other incarnations of his shows. The possible exception is the SiriusXM(?) cancellation (which I never knew about) but when counted now makes for eight, (8) ‘Retirements’. For at least five or six other ‘Retirements’ many/most revolved around “Family Crisis” which anybody can understand the FIRST time.
By the time the fourth or FIFTH ‘Retirement’ rolls around due to “Family Crisis” then there are truly CRISIS’S, and one needs to investigate everyTHING as well as everyONE, to include one’s own self. To marginalize that concept at this point in time is to possibly increase the level of danger on the aforementioned “Family” indeed. i.e. Factitious Disorder/ Factitious Disorder by Proxy, Early Onset Dementia, etc.
For anyone to be knowingly ‘involved’ with the ‘actor’ of such crisis’s at that level, and for whatever the reasoning (ratings, publicity, etc.), is said to be ‘complicit’. While I would doubt Art is fundamentally diseased perhaps could he get help with the reason he has repeatedly sabotaged his career to such an extent as this.
So in summation, fool us once, shame on you. Fool us five, six, seven plus? Get some help, seriously. REAL HELP. SkiBo
I don’t understand as a fan of Arts since the early 90’s , how quiting the show is going to help anything. If someone is going to fire shots, they can fire them anywhere . Why stop doing what you love so much & your loyal fans that stayed with you all this time? What about hiring a armed guard for the hours you do your show?

That’s a great question that any rationale, reasonable individual would/should ask. About the only contemporary science that can be used to derive an answer at this point appears to be Forensic Psychology as it deals with the matter of human behavior, after the FACTS have been gathered.
“Why do we need that”? you may honestly ask. My only answer to that question has to be, “Do you believe what’s been told to us in this matter so far”? I do not. Probably Keith has (been told truths to this point but very few others if any).
Because of that, one has to look back over the years of Arts career to attempt to garner the general ‘personal truths’ of the man as far as how he has behaved in other similar circumstances going back decades, but wait.
He works in the entertainment business that is ‘Long-Format, Talk Radio’. He has been repeatedly paid to not only entertain US, the listeners, BUT he has also been responsible to grow the number of listeners as per his contracts with the various syndicated radio programmers that purchased HIS style of radio broadcasted show (that has changed very little over the years) from him.
So if you listened since the 90’s you recall some of the changes and what was found to pass as acceptable as guests on his show when it became the ‘Powerhouse’ in the night that it did. Time travelers and ‘Dr.Doom’ Ed Dames. It seemed Art would interview anyone including ourselves to fill up air time and if any of us disliked those shows we would turn it off and wait till tomorrow.
Then those pesky ‘Retirements’ started popping up and some very ‘Dark Matter’ indeed was foisted upon the listeners as abject reasoning for some of those. One was cut and dried, the death of his wife. We all got that! Other things would be told to us and we just collectively said, “Go Art, we understand”. We believed ALL of it.
Since he was starting to be gone more than he was ‘on air’, the syndicators of the show had to scramble to find replacements for all those ‘retirements’ which helped to fuel a rift that had already begun while Art was bringing all those extra listeners (and commercials) in the door.
Art realized that he had ‘leverage’ that would make the Syndicators ease up by coming back, but would only give him ‘little victories’ here and there, and when Art ‘Retired’ for the last time around ’03’ they activated his Non Compete immediately and said “We’ll go down with the ship” which as it turns out, didn’t happen.
When that ‘Non-Compete’ clause expired, Art signed with SiriusXM and completed twenty eight shows for them in a month and a half and ‘Retired’ again. At that point any listeners that heard those shows paid $180.00 plus the cost of a satellite radio to hear, (I missed that one). That came with another ‘Non-Compete’ clause that lasted two years and here we are.
In between and during these ‘Non-Compete’ clauses there were a few print interviews and even the odd ‘Internet Only’ interviews that shed some light (allegedly mind you) on some of the ‘reasoning’ that was used on BOTH the parts of Art as well as the ‘Syndicators’ of his shows that Art previously retired from.
One of the most telling, was from his son from Art’s first marriage, Vincent. This was the boy who had trouble with a teacher that did get arrested and is currently doing time for kidnap and rape. While Vince didn’t elucidate on much of that he did go into his recollections of Art.
It was very short and ended with him standing in line to get a copy of his book signed by him. He really doesn’t recall him much. Yet Art turned one of his ‘Retirements’ in for Vince. In a recorded interview Art claimed that when he went to his show’s syndicators for legal help in the case they turned him down, and that’s what started the rift.
My point is, in the entertainment business you can not trust ANY BODY. I have no MORE of a reason to believe there is a ‘shooter’ on the loose in Parhump, NV than George C. Hoagland jumped over the moon. Seems if Art would have actually ‘retired’ to come to the aid of his first son who had been up to that point negated, Vincent would be singing his praises, yet he does not.
IF Art Bell has a net worth of about $10 million U.S. he would be all over getting some serious firepower in Parhump to protect this incarnation of ‘The Bells’ internet show or NOT.
There are MANY very good/excellent questions that have been asked by very average people/listeners EXCEPT the people directly involved with the show thus far. WE can not/should not get much more involved until they do. That’s what the Forensic’s bear out in this situation for me. How about you? Sincerely SkiBo.
