So much to report, so little time: I have a severe case of ‘the Mondays’. The world seems to have one too

It was a great weekend, for all intents and purposes.. Here in HORROR REPORT land, the Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania annual Bloomsburg Fair opened with traditional bombast (big rain storm and big cool down and cold nights) .. Love going there. I am another face in the crowd, though yesterday I sported my HORROR REPORT shirt when I was “winning” a prize for my almost-three-year-old. Little Ayden got a cool Poppa Smurf out of the game, but the fast-talking carnie may have ensured that about $30 bucks somehow gets taken from Ayden’s piggy bank. (I’d never do that, of course, but just threaten it if he didn’t have such a huge smile with the ‘murf’ as he calls it.) More fair time is coming. My hope is to get there every day this week, but realistically I’ll only be there about two or three more times. If you’re in this neck of the woods, you should check it out. A beautiful time at a beautiful place, with the magic of autumn clearly in the air, and the smells of fried oreos joining it.. I love this place because, no matter how crazy the world is, or how horrific things can be, there’s something about the fair that remains still, calm, and the same. You know what to expect.. you are comforted by the sights and sounds of a dying summer and a blossoming new season, one that will bring the chill of winter.. at least with the fair, that chill gets introduced with carnival music, funnel cakes, headless snake women, giant rats, and the Grandstand–typically with concerts I’d never pay to say but many others would…

WITH THE GOOD OUT OF THE WAY.. Here’s the bad, weird, mysterious, and creepy.

A horrific weekend for many at popular Kenya mall.. Hostages were taken, many were killed, and many more injured.. It was also learned that some of the hostage takers, the terrorists in this event, were from the United States..According to the latest reports at the hour this is updated, black smoke was rising over the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi and gunfights continued.. Terrorists from the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab group were believed to have about 10 remaining hostages on one level of the mall.. It said three were from the United States, two from Somalia and one each from Canada, Finland, Kenya and the United Kingdom.. The State Department in the US is reportedly attempting to validate that report..

The great people of Oregon are being told to prepare to a big earthquake that would cut roads off for 5 years, cut electricity for 3 months, and cut gas for 6.. The source of the scare is a geologist with the Oregon office of Emergency Management–he joined a crowd of people that say the Oregon quake is coming and that the state is overdue.. According to the statement, a big one is likely within the next 50 year..

There is a chance that some of us would never have been here if this occurred: According to old documents from 1969 that THE GUARDIAN has obtained, an atomic bomb nearly exploded over North Carolina! This is how FOX NEWS reports it: The 1969 document, obtained by investigative journalist Eric Schlosser under the Freedom of Information Act, details the Jan. 23, 1961, B-52 crash near Goldsboro, North Carolina, that saw two Mark 39 hydrogen bombs break up in mid-air. The report said that one of the two bombs behaved exactly as nuclear weapon is designed to function in wartime and that only a single low-voltage switch prevented detonation. Fallout could have been deposited over Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City, according to the report.
